 | Munich, May 20, 2005. The Nemetschek group, a leading vendor of software and consulting services in the design, construction, and management of building projects and real estate, reported a positive bottom line at today’s Annual General Meeting. Despite the difficult economic conditions, the company has maintained its market position in Germany and increased its market shares abroad noticeably, said CEO Gerhard Weiß. Nemetschek has worked hard in the past years and set the course for a successful future. “Our products and services are in demand nationally and internationally and the opportunities to further consolidate and build on our market position are good”, said Weiß.
Resolutions passed with large majority
The AGM, represented with 77.52 percent of the subscribed capital, passed all the board decisions by a large majority. Among other things, the AGM approved the proposal by the managing and supervisory boards to pay out a base dividend of 0.50 euros and a bonus dividend of 1.50 euros to shareholders on the basis of the positive results in the financial year 2004. Furthermore, the actions of the members of the supervisory board and the managing board were ratified for the past business year.
Profits up in all areas
In the financial year 2004 the group achieved sales of 96.6 million euros, which is slightly higher than the previous year. The operating result improved by 39 percent to 7.8 million euros, the net income amounted to 5.4 million euros. Liquid assets have increased significantly: as of December 31, 2004, they amounted to 39 million euros. “We have improved all of the key figures in the group”, said Weiß before the shareholders. In addition, the CEO provided an insight into the first quarter (ends: 31.3.) of the current financial year. Nemetschek achieved an operating profit (EBIT) of around 2 million euros, thus managing to continue the positive revenue trend of the past quarters. Invoiced sales of the group increased by 2.5 percent in the first quarter. For invoicing reasons, however, this will only translate into sales revenues in the months to come. Sales revenues for the first quarter amount to 22.2 million euros after 23.0 million euros in the previous year.
Reference projects emphasize market leadership
In the past financial year, Nemetschek further expanded its position as market leader and attracted numerous new customers. The Berlinische Galerie, which was opened recently, the renovation of the Philharmonic Hall in Essen and the Europark in Rust, where an Italian theme park was created using technology from Nemetschek, are just some of the outstanding reference projects. For the current financial year, Nemetschek will further develop and expand its product portfolio with regard to functionality, user-friendliness and openness as well as push forward with the integration of all software systems, explained Dr. Peter Mossack, member of the managing board with responsibility for Research and Development. He also announced a mobile platform solution for the entire process in the building industry, which will provide additional competitive advantages in the market.
Overall, the managing board is optimistic for the financial year 2005 and expects sales to rise slightly for the year as a whole and profits to increase significantly.
