Nemetschek joins inHaus2

HOCHTIEF chooses Nemetschek as exclusive planning partner

Munich, October 11, 2006 – Nemetschek and HOCHTIEF have agreed a cooperation contract for the inHaus2 research project. The project was initiated by the Fraunhofer Gesellschaft in Duisburg and deals with the theme of innovative buildings, driving the development of intelligent and networked technologies for functional buildings to market readiness.

During the planning and construction of the building, the construction service provider HOCHTIEF will implement innovative planning and visualization solutions from Nemetschek. The objective is to use Allplan Architecture, Allplan Civil Engineering, Allplan Building Services, Allright Cost Planning and Cinema 4D to implement model-oriented and usage-oriented planning for inHaus2.

Directly next to inHaus1, an innovation laboratory for modern residential buildings, inHaus2 will be constructed on the 5,500 m2 property by the middle of 2008. The extremely flexible building will adapt to the needs and requirements of different users and provides a great deal of potential for innovation in the real estate sector. The research section of inHaus2 will analyze and test office and administration buildings, hotels, hospitals, retirement and nursing homes. The emphasis of the research will be on new construction elements and designs for different building usage.

Michael Westfahl, member of the Managing Board responsible for Sales and Marketing at Nemetschek, sees the inHaus2 project as a great opportunity: “Together with the Fraunhofer Gesellschaft and HOCHTIEF, we will work on research and development projects for innovative software and include the latest findings in our projects. With inHaus2, Nemetschek is including its IT solutions in Europe’s most important competence center for intelligent homes.”
