Sitting on a piazza, drinking Cappuccino and enjoying mediterranean ambiance – the epitome of dolce vita, and a pleasure. In the German city of Rust half a year ago a city - as Italian as can be - has risen from the ground. Narrow houses nestle closely together, grouped around a square in the middle of which a fountain bubbles. Cafes and bars populate the arcades, arch windows, columns and pilasters structure the facade – Venice and Florence send their regards.

The ensemble is flanked by the remains of an amphitheatre – or are we in Rome after all? No, what conveys the Italian way of life is the latest attraction in the Europa Park Rust: The „Colosseo“, a family hotel in Italian style which makes the headlines in many respects. - The structure perfectly reminds one of Italy´s architecture, and the Four-Star-accomodation facility has been awarded „Hotel of the Year“ .

The structure emerged within 15 months, coordinated by the planning department of the Europa Park. Among others the office CHP was involved in the project together with the planning group CTE, the planning group Burgert, the planning office Bühler, as well as the interior decoration company Rudi Neumeier. The areas architecture and engineering were planned with the help of the Nemetschek software Allplan.
