Software Requirements

Allplan 2006 is quality tested for the following operating systems:

  • SUSE Linux 9.1 with Sambaserver 3.0 on a Reiser Filesystem

Recommendation:
We recommend the operating system Windows XP Professional for use in a professional CAD workstation with Allplan 2006.

Additional Requirements
The following additional requirements must also be fulfilled:
  • The operating system must be installed and running correctly
  • The hardware and software requirements listed above must also be fulfilled for computers acting as a data server for an Allplan 2006 installation.
  • All peripheral devices must be connected, correctly configured and the required drivers installed.
  • A functional network at operating system level is required for the installation of two or more Allplan 2006 seats in a network installation.

Processor Compatibility
It is important that the SSE (Streaming SIMD Extensions) instructon set is supported by the processor in order for Allplan to run. If you are unsure whether your current processor is suitable for use with Allplan 2005 then carry out the following test.

The attached tool ssetest.exe enables you to check whether the processor in your computer complies with the minimum specification to run Allplan i.e. support of the SSE instruction set.

Make a new folder in Windows Explorer e.g. c:\Test and copy the file ssetest.exe into this folder.
Open the prompt entry window (via Start -> Ausführen -> enter CMD -> OK) and change to the new folder that you have just made by entering
cd c:\Test
Confirm the entry with Return
Enter ssetest
Return

If the result is "->1", then the processor supports the SSE instruction set and is suitable for use with Allplan 2005

If the result is "->0", then the processor does NOT support the SSE instruction set and is NOT suitable for use with Allplan 2005
